PhD Candidate
Project: Nutritional Factors Affecting Proper Bone Formation for Growth and Reduction of Deformities in Giant Grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus)
Zannatul’s PhD project will develop aquafeed for improving bone formation for growth and reduction of deformities in giant grouper.
Zannatul’s research will enhance our understanding of mineral nutrition in giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus), providing essential data to improve fish welfare, growth, and feed efficiency. By addressing key nutritional gaps, this industry-linked project will support the development of species-specific pelleted aquafeeds that enhance bone health, reduce deformities, and optimize production. The findings will establish best practices for mineral nutrition, benefiting giant grouper farming in Australia and globally through sustainable and efficient aquaculture practices.
