Redclaw nutrition development
Redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) represent enormous untouched potential in the Australian aquaculture industry. Recent developments in hatchery technology have paved the way for large-scale crayling (redclaw post-larvae) production, increasing certainty of production compared to traditional methods of adding egg-bearing (“berried”) females to ponds. While this traditional production method used the pond ecosystem to take care of juvenile nutrition, it was very unpredictable. With innovative tank-based technology, we now have a need for juvenile feed development, which is the aim of this project.
